Helps families facing emergency situations with pet food and supplies, emergency veterinary care, emergency boarding, landlord advocacy and other needs for preserving pets as part of the family unit.
The Humane Society of Tulsa has the ability to respond to emergency and disaster situations. We can provide immediate response to natural disasters including rescue, sheltering, veterinary services and victim support services. Humane Society of Tulsa is also equipped and experienced in handling large scale animal rescue including hoarding cases, commercial breeder closings, defunct animal shelters or other situations.
The Humane Society of Tulsa’s Dog Day Out Program gives shelter dogs a break from the kennel and a chance to shine in the real world. Approved volunteers take a dog out for a few hours or a full day to enjoy walks, playtime, relaxation, and dog friendly outings. These experiences reduce stress, build confidence, and help dogs show their true personalities, which greatly increases their chances of adoption. Each outing ends with the dog returning to the shelter happier, more relaxed, and more visible to potential adopters.
